Increase of Love
Set our hearts on fire with love for You, O Christ our God, that in its flame we may love You with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our soul and with all our strength, and our neighbours as ourselves, so that, keeping Your commandments, we may glorify You, the Giver of all good gifts.
Prayer of Faith, Hope and Love
I believe, O my Lord, grant that I may believe more strongly. I love You, O my Lord; grant that I may love You more deeply. I trust You in all things, O my Lord; grant that I may seek only Your will.
For God’s Will
O Lord, I know not what to ask of You. You alone know what are my true needs. You love me more than I myself know how to love.
Help me to see my real needs, which are concealed from me. I dare not ask either a cross or consolation. I can only wait on You. My heart is open to You.
Visit and help me, for the sake of Your great mercy. Strike me and heal me, cast me down and raise me up.
I worship in silence Your holy will and Your mysterious ways. I offer myself as a sacrifice to You. I put all my trust in You. I have no other desire than to fulfill Your will.
Teach me how to pray. Pray Yourself in me. Amen.
Prayer of Confidence in God
Beloved Jesus, Grant that I rest in You above all things, above all creatures, above all Your angels, above all praise, above all rejoicing and exultation, above all glory and honour, above all heavenly hosts, For You alone are the Most High, You alone are the Almighty and Good above all things.
May You come to me and relieve me, and release me from my chains, and grant me freedom, because without You my joy is not complete, without You my table is empty.
† God saves me, Jesus enlightens me, the Holy Spirit is my life; thus, I fear nothing.
For Help
In every need let me come to You with humble trust, saying: Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations, Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness, and trials, Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles, and sorrows, Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your grace alone can assist me, Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself upon Your tender love as a Father and a Saviour, Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure at seeing no good come from my efforts, Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me, Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and I cannot work, and I am lonely, Jesus, help me!
Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls, and shortcomings of every kind, Jesus, help me, and never forsake me!
Amen.
In Times of Difficulty
O God, our help and assistance, You are just and merciful and hear the supplications of Your people; look down upon me, a sinner; have mercy upon me and deliver me from this trouble which besets me.
I acknowledge and believe, O Lord, that all trials of this life are permitted by You for our benefit and growth, especially when we drift away from You and disobey Your commandments. Deal not with me according to my sins, but according to Your bountiful mercies, for 1 am the work of Your hands, and You know my weaknesses.
Grant me, I beseech You, the help of Your divine grace, and endow me with patience and strength to endure all difficulties with complete surrender to Your holy will. You know my misery, my pain and suffering.
To You, my only hope and refuge, I flee for relief and comfort; trusting in Your infinite love and compassion, that in due time, when You know is best, You will deliver me from this affliction. You will turn my distress into comfort and I will rejoice in Your mercy, exalting Your most holy name; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen.
In Adversity and Misfortune
O Merciful God, You see the misfortune that has befallen me. I am bitterly distressed. But when I think of how they scourged You, my Saviour, of how they crowned You with thorns, and of how they nailed You to the cross, I realize that my pain does not equal Yours. You willingly took upon Yourself all Your sufferings and endured them in order to atone for my sins and those of the whole world. I, too, will gladly accept my misfortune and not complain; so that I may, in some measure, atone for my sins and the sins of those dear to me. Jesus, my God, grant me the grace to patiently bear my misfortune.

Thanksgiving After Deliverance From Difficulty
Almighty and merciful God, I most humbly and heartily thank Your divine majesty for Your loving kindness and tender mercies. You have graciously heard my humble prayer and deigned to deliver me from my trouble and misery.
Grant me, I beseech You, Your helping grace, that I may obediently walk in Your holy commandments and lead a virtuous, righteous and godly life, always remembering Your kindness and the blessings which You have bestowed upon me, unworthy as I am, so that I may continually offer to You the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and forever and ever. Amen.
